The warm waters of the Caribbean Sea has been the home for years of the biggest congregation of Whales Sharks around the world, and this place is close to Cancun. The Whale Shark Discovery tour operates daily between June 1st and September 17th, and it’s the World’s favourite way to snorkel and swim with Whale Sharks in Mexico. Whale Shark watching is guaranteed! By Mexican Conservation & Protection Services regulations if there are less than 5 whale sharks in the area, we will only do sighting.

In summertime hundreds of whale sharks swim to the Caribbean Sea, near Cancun, to stay and feed themselves on Plankton. Our power boats leave daily from Cancun to get to the whale sharks area between Isla Mujeres and Isla Holbox. Our experienced bilingual guides will make your whale shark swimming or watching experience the highlight of your holiday. The Whale Sharks are the largest fish of the world, they normally are as big as 40 ft long, and weigh up to 15 tons.
They are very peaceful animals, and they just eat plankton and small fishes.
While you are in cancun you have the great opportunity to admire Swim, Snorkel and get close to them, the most amazing animals of the planet, and during this adventure there is nothing to fear since they are harmless animals.
Itinerary Whale Shark Snorkeling
Once we set off in the boat to search for the Whale Shark and mantas (about 50 min), once we reach the feeding are a we will spend approximately 3 hours snorkelling with the whale sharks and Manta Rays.
7.30 – Pick up from your hotel in Cancun (7 from Playa Del Carmen).
7.45 – Arrival at our meeting point at the boat pier in Cancun.
8.00 – Light breakfast buffet at the pier in Cancun.
8.15 – Departure from Cancun meeting-point Punta Sam harbor, our Certified Bilingual Guides will give you a safety briefing before we board our speedboats.
9.00 – We arrive in the whale shark watching area and we gear up to begin snorkeling. Two guests will swim with the Whale Sharks at a time, and they will be accompanied by a guide at all times.
We take turns and you can swim as many times as you want. We stay approximately 3 hours in the whale shark swimming area.
11.30 – We leave the Whale Shark watching area on our speedboats to go snorkeling at the Isla Mujeres reef.
12.30 – Snorkeling on the Coral Reef of Isla Mujeres.
13.00 – Caribbean Lunch at “Playa Norte”, with Shrimp Ceviche, totopos, guacamole, fruits and soft drinks in Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres (vegetarian food available on request.) – Click on any of the food names to see it’s Wikipedia page (they will open in a new tab).
14.30 – Return to Cancun to take your included transportation back to your hotel or lodging.
